How come this stuff is so cheap?

The software on each CD, in most cases is copyrighted property, although it is distributed free of charge by the product owners (usually under the GNU licensing agreement). Some products are custom CD's prepared by Edmunds Enterprises and others are the same Linux CD versions you will find in retail box sets. Our mission is to not charge for the hard work of the many software developers that make Linux possible for all of us but to charge only for the manufacturing and duplication services which we provide.

But why should I buy them here?

This is our 11th year of providing Linux CD's to the public and we thank our many customers who have made this possible! The choices for getting Linux CD's were non-existent when we began this project but we just knew there were others like ourselves who wanted the latest Linux distro's without all the hastle and expense.

Since that time things have changed quite a bit. We've seen a lot of new companies come along (and go). We are glad to see all the excitement around Linux and welcome the new people we meet along the way. We know you have a choice in getting your Linux CD's and we'd like you to know what sets us apart. • Quality - We know Linux! We know what works well and what does not when manufacturing Linux specific CD's. Let's face it, almost anyone can burn an ISO image. But seldom do they perform binary verification of every byte on that CD before it ships. • Value - seems like here is where others are much less willing to imitate us. We only charge for the duplication services that we provide, period. We are not charging for the efforts of the many talented, Open Source software developers. It is amazing to us how many people try and charge twice, and sometimes 7 times, as much.

 

OK, I'm convinced, how do I place an order?

Simply follow the Catalog button to select the CD's you're interested in purchasing from the online catalog. Click on the 'Buy' button to add an item to your cart. You can view your cart contents or checkout at any time. Credit card orders are filled and shipped automatically once your payment method is successfully authorized. Orders where the 'ship to' address is different from the credit card billing address may take additional time to authorize. Be sure to include a phone number to verify such orders.

How do I pay for my order?

Payment methods are made online using high encryption and a secure connection.  Credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted.  We also support PayPal and mail order payments.

No credit card or financial information is maintained on Edmunds Enterprises of America web servers. Your information goes directly to the credit card processor only to ensure the most secure shopping experience.

How long does it take to get my CD's?

Shipments are usually processed the same day payment is received. Larger orders may take longer if the entire order cannot be supplied with existing inventory, but this usually is not a problem. Almost all orders are mailed out the same business day payment is received if received before 4:00PM EST. Faster shipping options are also available. Check the order page for more information and the appropriate cost.

Are there any other charges?

The total cost of your order will usually be 99 cents or less for each CD plus shipping. We were also the first company to offer muti-CD bundles to save our customers even more per CD. Florida residents must pay Florida sales tax. Shipping charges depend upon location and which delivery option you select. You will be shown the actual charges during checkout but before payment is made so that you can review all potential charges. We invite you to shop around and compare prices and Linux versions. You'll see that these prices are the most competitive when you look at the full cost (including shipping and handling) and that we have only the very latest software.

How can I get my CD's shipped?

Because our customers are usually looking for quality at low cost, we ship most orders via ground using the U.S. Postal Ground Service. Except in certain areas of the United States, most deliveries occur within only a few days. For a few dollars more you can elect to have your order shipped via USPS Priority or Express Mail. The upgrade shipping rates are for orders under 2 pounds total shipping weight.

What about international orders?

Yes. We currently ship within the U.S., its territories, and Canada at the same low cost. International shipping is also available to several countries. View the current country list in the first checkout screen as this information can change from time to time. Typical shipping options are Global Priority and Global Express shipping with real time rate quotes from our USPS interface!

How do I check on the status of my order?

The easiest way to check on your order is to go to our Order Status screen. You'll be able to find out when your order was shipped at anytime, day or night!

Can I request a CD that is not listed?

Certainly. We tend to specialize in various Linux related products but can make others available depending upon customer needs. We cannot always offer every title due to copyright and licensing guidelines and there may be other reasons why a certain title cannot be sold. If you have a request and also know where it is available on the internet , please include that information by submitting the attached request form found here
